Stakeholders
Shannon Airport (SHAA) acts as the Pilot Operator, providing expertise on real-world airport operations and cyber-physical security practices. SHAA operates Ireland’s second-largest long-haul airport and the only U.S. border preclearance facility in Europe.
Scenarios
Scenario 1: Responding to a cyber-attack leading to large-scale disruptions. On a peak travel day, a coordinated ransomware attack targets the airport’s critical IT systems, including passenger check-in and baggage handling software, forcing staff to switch to manual processes while managing an unauthorised access attempt in a restricted zone. With HOMAGE, operators can anticipate decision bottlenecks and error likelihood, forecast infrastructure interdependencies, and receive concise, adaptive situational awareness tailored to their workload and cognitive state.
Scenario 2: Post-crisis multi-source event reconstruction and learning. HOMAGE aggregates technical logs, AI outputs, and human decision records to reconstruct the event timeline. Role-based review interfaces allow security, IT, operations, and management teams to analyse incident progression and decision-making, assess compliance, and identify improvement opportunities.
Expected benefits
Earlier foresight and more accurate forecasts, shorter decision cycles, lower perceived workload, early and trust-based anomaly detection, better identification of procedural and behavioural root causes, and improved decision quality through scenario-based training: shorter recovery time, better coordination and stronger resilience across the airport.
